Nokia has this morning announced the latest additions to its Asha Touch budget smartphone lineup: the Asha 308 and the Asha 309 — which are focused on super speedy web browsing. Both devices are almost identical inside and out, however, the Asha 308 boasts two SIM card slots, while the Asha 309 only has one.

According to Nokia, the Asha 308 and the Asha 309 are the most affordable capacitive touch smartphones yet. In the United States, the price of these handsets is expected to come in around the $99 mark — though we are still waiting for Nokia or a third-party retailer to confirm that.

Both devices ship with a new version of the Nokia Xpress Browser, which promises to make devices up to 90% more efficient while browsing the web. They don’t boast a 3G data connection, however — there’s only 2G here — but they do offer Wi-Fi. They also feature a 3-inch WQVGA display, which is powered by Nokia’s Swipe user interface.

The handset’s feature stereo radios, loudspeakers, and microSD card slots with support for up to 32GB of storage. They also come with 40 premium EA games, dedicated Facebook and Twitter clients, and Nokia Messaging Service pre-installed.

The Asha 308 is the most impressive of the two, boasting dual SIM card slots, which employ Nokia’s Easy Swap technology for quick and easy switching between the two.
